Rectors’ Conference 2018
The much awaited Rectors’ Conference hosted by Superior University in Collaboration with Punjab Higher Education Authority took place on 28th November,2018. The Objective of the Conference was Uplifting Higher Education in Pakistan by bringing together Rectors, Vice Chancellors, educationists and Industry Experts from across Pakistan and countries like Turkey, Australia and China to seek their opinions and meet the educational challenges in Pakistan.
The Chief Guests were Raja Yasir Humayoun Sarfaraz – Minister of Higher Education Punjab, Dr. Mustafa Aydin – President EURASIAN Universities Union, Dr. Nizamuddin – Chairman PHEC, S.M. Imran – Director DIN Group of Companies, Dr. James A. Tebbe – Vice Chancellor FC College, Dr. Rukhsana David – VC Kinnaird College for Women, Murad Akhtar – CEO Tintash, Syed Ali – CEO 7 Vals and Salman Ansari –CEO SATC.
The Conference commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Sumaira Rehman who underlined the fundamentals of the conference and requested the Chief Guests to deliver their addresses. Dr Sumaira Rehman took the Conference further by moderating the panel discussion on Redesigning Higher Education in Pakistan. During the panel discussion stakeholders from Pakistan’s Academia, Industry and the Government sat down and suggested ways to produce graduates that can compete in today’s local and global market and meet the challenges of tomorrow.
The last Component Rectors’ Conference was policy dialogues on the Challenges and Opportunities of Higher Education in Pakistan driven by Mehak Jamal, Deputy Director Internationalization and Engagement The Superior Group. The policy dialogue revolved around the current standing of Pakistan’s current education system and an effective model for the formation of a stable academic system.
Souvenirs were presented to the guests by Dr. Mustafa Aydin and Dr. Sumaira Rehman towards the end of the conference.
