ORIC Introduction

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization has been set up under the visionary of leadership of our worthy chairman Dr. Ch. Abdul Rehman who firmly believe that only research, innovation and commercialization of technology can build an economically Superior Pakistan.

The ORIC at Superior aims to develop innovative solutions for industry challenges using state of the art research tools and technologies to create socio economic change in Pakistan.

The Azra Naheed Center for Research and Development and Chaudhary Mohammad Akram Center for Entrepreneurship development has been working since 2009 in the areas of research and entrepreneurship respectively. Research Publication, international collaborations, research conferences and training have been a regular feature. Similarly the trainings for aspiring entrepreneurs mentoring and funding support has been extended to startups 

Currently Superior is working to inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset in the students through unique courses like Technopreneurship for social sciences, IT, Engineering, pharmacy, and Bio Tech students leading to the development of new technologies & startups. Our Technology incubator and accelerator are in place to support the initiatives. 

When Superior College received guidelines from HEC to form ORIC we realized that most of the essential functions required by HEC are already functional need was realized to integrate all the activities under the banner of ORIC according to the HEC guidelines. Therefore the existing centers were merged to form our center that is office of Research Innovation & Commercialization to foster research based entrepreneurial eco system at the Superior College.

The ORIC at The Superior College is engaged in:

  1. Enhance strategic direction in Research, Innovation and Commercialization.
  2. Integrate the research in curriculum and teaching pedagogy.
  3. Recruit and develop faculty with research acumen.
  4. Inculcate entrepreneurial mindset in faculty and students.
  5. Convert research into market able products that solve industry challenges. 
  6. Register patents.
  7. Strengthen the ties between industry and academia.
  8. Supporting the university’s strategic research directions and policies.
  9. Source research funding and grants from national and international bodies.
